Blackburn Rovers sign defender Luke

Blackburn Rovers have completed the signing of defender Hannah Luke.

The Lancashire club announced news of the transfer via a post on their official club X account this evening.

Luke joins Blackburn Rovers following a spell combining playing football with her studies in the United States.

The Darlington-born defender first represented Limestone University in her time Stateside, where she was an ever-present, before spending the 2022 and 2023 seasons with Creighton University. The defender made 25 appearances for Creighton University in which she scored two goals and provided four assists. Luke has most recently been playing for California Storm.

In her early years, Luke was a member of the Teesside Regional Talent Centre (RTC) before she spent time in the FA Women’s National League Northern Premier Division with Middlesbrough.

Luke has shown plenty of promise early in her career and she will be hoping to continue to grow in her spell with Blackburn Rovers. The midfielder joins a club that could put their faith in a number of bright young players this season.

Luke is Blackburn Rovers’ third signing of the summer transfer window. It has been a busy day for the Lancashire club with former Lewes and Crystal Palace midfielder Ellie Noble having also completed a move to Ewood Park.
