Spurs sign Real Madrid midfielder Oroz on a four-year deal

Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of Real Madrid midfielder Maite Oroz on a four-year deal.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Lilywhites this evening.

The 26-year-old midfielder is one of the original Real Madrid players that featured in their first season in the finetwork Liga F back in 2020/2021. Oroz has gone on to make 110 appearances for The Whites in league competition in which she has scored 12 goals. The player has also played an important role for Real Madrid in the UEFA Women’s Champions League over the last three seasons.

Prior to her four-year spell at Real Madrid, Oroz started her senior career with Osasuna. In 2014, the club were disbanded and the player went on to spend six years with Athletic Club.

On the international stage, Oroz is a member of the Spanish national team. She has been capped on 15 occasions by her country while she has scored four goals. She was a UEFA Women’s Nations League winner with Spain earlier this year. At youth level, Oroz helped Spain to win the UEFA Women’s Under-17 Championship in 2015 and the UEFA Women’s Under-19 Championship in 2017.

Oroz is Tottenham Hotspur’s seventh signing of the summer transfer window.
