Everton have completed the signing of former Blackburn Rovers midfielder Lauren Thomas on a short-term deal.
WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Blue Girls this morning.
Thomas started her senior career on Merseyside with Liverpool. She made a couple of appearances for The Reds in the 2018/2019 Barclays Women’s Super League before leaving the club in summer 2019. The 24-year-old has since spent the last five seasons playing in the Barclays Women’s Championship with Blackburn Rovers.
In her time with the Lancashire club, Thomas has made 64 appearances in the Barclays Women’s Championship while she has scored three goals. The midfielder was a member of the Blackburn Rovers side that recorded their highest-ever points tally in the Barclays Women’s Championship last season.
Thomas was one of several departures at Blackburn Rovers over the summer. The player has now earned herself another chance in the Barclays Women’s Super League with Brian Sørensen’s Everton.
Thomas could be named in the Everton squad for tomorrow’s Barclays Women’s Super League fixture at Brighton & Hove Albion. The Blue Girls will be hoping for a positive start to the new campaign after enjoying another solid season in the top flight in 2023/2024.
