Sheffield United have completed the signing of London City Lionesses midfielder Connie Scofield on a loan deal for the remainder of the season.
WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Blades this morning.
The 25-year-old arrives at Bramall Lane with plenty of experience in the elite game. Scofield appeared in the Barclays Women’s Super League during her time at both Birmingham City and Leicester City before turning out for Coventry United and London City Lionesses in the second tier. The midfielder has spent the last 18 months with the latter club, making 22 appearances in league competition and scoring one goal.
Scofield will now be hoping to help Ash Thompson’s Sheffield United side kick on in the second half of the season.
After signing on with The Blades, Scofield said “I’m super-happy to be here. The girls I know here are lovely and I’m sure everyone else is too. I can’t wait to play at such a lovely stadium, meet the fans, and I just can’t wait to get going.”
Scofield could go straight into the Sheffield United squad as they prepare to face promotion-chasing Durham in a Barclays Women’s Championship fixture at Bramall Lane on Sunday afternoon.
