Arsenal forward Kelly pulls out of England duty with foot injury

Arsenal forward Chloe Kelly has pulled out of the England squad as a result of an ongoing foot problem.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official media update from The Football Association this evening.

The 27-year-old was selected in England boss Sarina Wiegman’s squad for this month’s UEFA Women’s Nations League double-header against Belgium. Wiegman had already confirmed that Kelly would not be fit for this evening’s fixture against The Red Flames in Bristol but it was hoped that she could play a part in the return fixture on Tuesday. It has now been revealed that Kelly will not complete her recovery before the end of April camp and she has therefore returned to Arsenal for further treatment.

Kelly has returned to her best form since joining Arsenal on loan from Manchester City in January. The forward has made seven appearances for The Gunners in all competitions in which she has scored one goal. Kelly has been involved in several of the goals scored by Arsenal in recent weeks. The North Londoners will be hoping that the player makes a full recovery before their next fixture against Leicester City on Tuesday 15 April 2025.

England boss Wiegman will not draft in a replacement for Kelly for the remainder of this international window.
