London City Lionesses have announced the news that a further five players are leaving the club this summer.
The Pride revealed their latest departures via a post on their official club website this afternoon.
It has been revealed that Amelia Ajao, Danielle Carter, Hermione Cull, Miljana Ivanović and Charlène Meyong are all moving on.
Cameroon international midfielder Meyong is arguably the highest-profile departure with the player having made 24 appearances for London City Lionesses this season while Serbian international forward Ivanović was given 10 outings.
Former England forward Carter was a regular for London City Lionesses in the former regime before stepping back due to her pregnancy while goalkeeper Cull has provided competition for the first-choice goalkeeping jersey. Youngster Ajao didn’t make a first team outing for The Pride.
In total, 11 players are leaving London City Lionesses this summer following the club’s promotion to the Barclays Women’s Super League. Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah, Georgia Brougham, Megan Campbell, Lucy Fitzgerald, Emma Mukandi and Connie Scofield have previously had their Hayes Lane exits confirmed by the club.
London City Lionesses are expected to invest heavily in their squad this summer with the club aiming to be competitive in the Barclays Women’s Super League over multiple seasons.
