Liverpool keeper Kirby signs new deal

Liverpool goalkeeper Faye Kirby has signed a new contract with the club.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Reds this afternoon.

Kirby spent time with Liverpool’s neighbours Everton before being picked up by The Reds in 2022. Since joining Liverpool, the player has gone on to make five appearances for the club in all competitions.

The youngster briefly spent time out on loan at Aberdeen before spending a significant period recovering from an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury. The player has bounced back from that blow and she will be hoping to push for more minutes at Liverpool this season.

After signing her new deal, Kirby said “It feels great to get it over the line. Obviously, there have been talks behind the scenes for quite a while now, so I’m just over the moon to get it done and get going.

“I feel like we’ve got a strong [goalkeeping] group. At the end of the day, there’s only one shirt but we’re going to push each other. Whoever gets that starting position has obviously earned it, so we’re just there to support.

“We’ll push each other every day and you never know what can happen.”

Further Liverpool squad news will be revealed in due course.
