London City Lionesses sign Italian international defender Linari

London City Lionesses have completed the impressive signing of Italian international defender Elena Linari.

The Pride announced the news via a post on their official club website earlier today.

The 31-year-old centre-back joins London City Lionesses off the back of a four-year spell with Italian Serie A Femminile eBay club AS Roma. Linari has been heavily involved for The She-Wolf throughout her time with the club. She has won all three domestic competitions on two occasions with AS Roma.

Linari has also turned out for Firenze, Brescia, Fiorentina, Atlético Madrid and Bordeaux in her career to date. She has accrued around 400 competitive appearances in all competitions across a 17-year period.

On the international stage, Linari has been capped by Italy on 115 occasions while she has scored six goals. The player featured for her country at UEFA Women’s EURO 2025.

After signing on with London City Lionesses, Linari said “Everything is so amazing here, everyone is so welcoming and everything is so professional.

“I’m very happy to be here at another great club, I was pushing hard to have this chance and I’m so happy that London City gave me this opportunity.”

Linari is London City Lionesses’ tenth signing of the summer transfer window.
