Spurs agree to sign Norwegian international midfielder Gaupset

Tottenham Hotspur have agreed a deal to sign SK Brann midfielder Signe Gaupset on a permanent transfer.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Lilywhites this evening.

The 20-year-old will officially join the North Londoners on 1 January 2026 when the transfer window re-opens. Gaupset has signed a long-term contract with Spurs.

Gaupset has been with SK Brann since 2021 when the club played under their former identity of IL Sandviken. She has gone on to represent ‘The Pride of Bergen’ on close to 100 occasions. The youngster has won two Toppserien titles and the Norwegian Cup while she has also played UEFA Women’s Champions League football in recent seasons.

On the international stage, Gaupset has been capped by Norway on 12 occasions while she has scored five goals.

After joining Spurs, Gaupset said “When I have spoken to people at the Club, the project and everything around it, it just seems really good. This is a good place for me to be a better footballer, to develop more and be as good as possible.

“I know Martin [Ho] as a coach and I know what to expect. We worked really well together. He demands a lot, but I like that, I think he can get even more out of me.”

Gaupset will be hoping to help Spurs to continue their excellent start to the season in the second half of the campaign.
