Manchester United sign Swedish international forward Wangerheim

Manchester United have completed the signing of Swedish international forward Ellen Wangerheim on a three-and-a-half-year deal.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Red Devils this morning.

The 21-year-old attacker joins Manchester United from Swedish OBOS Damallsvenskan club Hammarby IF where she started her senior career. Wangerheim has won one league title and two domestic cups in her time as a senior player with Bajen. The forward has made more than 100 competitive appearances for Hammarby IF in all competitions.

On the international stage, Wangerheim made her senior debut for Sweden in 2024.

Wangerheim has been the subject of plenty of transfer interest in the last couple of years and it is Manchester United who have won the race for her signature.

After signing on with The Red Devils, Wangerheim said “I am so excited. It feels amazing to be here. It’s a huge club with big history, so sitting here in this shirt is a proud moment for me. It’s always been my dream to move abroad and to play in another country, in Europe and in a really big football club.”

Wangerheim is Manchester United’s third signing of the January transfer window.
