Ipswich Town sign Hearts captain Hunter

Ipswich Town have completed the signing of Hearts captain Georgia Hunter on a two-year deal.

The Tractor Girls announced news of the transfer via a post on their official club website this afternoon.

Hunter joined Hearts at the age of 12 and she successfully progressed through to the first team. The 25-year-old was a SWPL2 promotion-winner with The Jambos in 2019 while she celebrated a first SWPL title win with the club last term.

On the international stage, Hunter has represented Scotland at Under-23 level.

The defender is at a stage in her career where she needs to test herself at the next level and she now makes the move into the English professional game with Ipswich Town.

After joining The Tractor Girls, Hunter said “My time at Hearts has allowed me to experience what it takes to win and I have definitely improved across my time there.

“The ambition this club has got is very positive and the progression the team showed last season shows the direction it’s heading in.

“I’m really looking forward to my first campaign in WSL2 and now can’t wait to get out on the pitch.”

Hunter is Ipswich Town’s sixth signing of the summer transfer window.
