Former Crystal Palace forward nets debut goal as Crawley Wasps start on top of the table

Former Crystal Palace forward Magda Mosengo scored a debut goal for new club Crawley Wasps as they won their opening 2020/2021 FA Women’s National League South fixture 5-0 at Hounslow this afternoon.

The 25-year-old moved to Tinsley Lane this summer after leaving second tier club Palace after just one season as Hayes Lane. She has joined a Crawley Wasps side who have long term ambitions of playing in the FA Women’s Championship themselves and they got off to the best possible start in the capital this afternoon.

Just like at her former club, Mosengo wears the number nine shirt this season and it took the player just 28 minutes to announce her arrival by netting her first Crawley Wasps goal. The Sussex club were 2-0 up when the forward struck, Mosengo bundling the ball into the net after a free-kick had caused havoc in the Hounslow box. Mosengo was substituted in the 65th minute at Tithe Farm as the visitors went on to complete a 5-0 opening day success.

Mosengo joined former club Crystal Palace last summer and made a positive impact for The Eagles. She made 14 appearances in total for the South Londoners, scoring four goals in all competitions.

The player has previously been on the books at QPR and Arsenal before spending time playing her football in the United States.
