WEEKLY UPDATE: Manchester City Women Official Supporters’ Club #36

Welcome to our first Manchester City Women Official Supporters’ Club weekly update of 2020.

We hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year, although it is nice to now be thinking about football again rather than turkey and mince pies.

This weekend saw us get back to FA Women’s Super League action with an away game at The Hive, Barnet FC, against Tottenham Women. Again, we were able to put on one of our subsidised coaches for our members and other Blues to get as many City fans to the game as possible. We all had a great time and received a warm welcome from our hosts. There was a bit of friendly banter and of course, a thumping win on the pitch, so all-in-all, it was a perfect start to the new year for us.

Last Saturday saw a number of our members again take up an opportunity offered by Manchester City to attend our men’s game against Port Vale in the Emirates FA Cup third round from the luxurious surroundings of The Commonwealth Suite at The Etihad Stadium. We had a great evening with lovely food, a few drinks and again, another great win to round it off.

We now turn our thoughts to arranging some meetings and events for the New Year for our members and we have so many exciting things planned. This Saturday coming sees us face Everton at The Academy Stadium, so it gives us an early chance to welcome and thank a very special player to all of us at Manchester City, Izzy Christensen. We wish her the best of luck after returning to former club Everton during the current transfer window.

Enjoy your football this weekend and we will be back again next week with another update.
