Former Manchester United forward Charlie Devlin has joined Leicester City from their FA Women’s Championship rivals Charlton Athletic.
The 21-year-old former England youth international was released by United at the end of last season and joined Riteesh Mishra’s Charlton Athletic ahead of the current campaign.
Despite The Addicks’ lowly league position, Devlin impressed for Charlton Athletic during the first half of the season and it has now been announced that the player has joined fellow FA Women’s Championship club Leicester City on a permanent deal according to The Foxes’ official website.
The East Midlands club lead The Addicks by just two points in the FA Women’s Championship table but are already enjoying a really strong transfer window with Bristol City forward Ella Rutherford having also joined the club this week on a deal until the end of the season.
It has been revealed that Leicester City’s latest signing Devlin has agreed a contract at Farley Way until summer 2021. The major role which the striker is set to play has been highlighted by the fact that she has been handed the number seven shirt.
Devlin was an FA Women’s Championship title-winner with former club Manchester United last season. She made 21 appearances for the club prior to her release.
