Arsenal and Chelsea will contest one of the biggest FA Women’s Super League fixtures of the season on Sunday afternoon when the pair go into battle at Meadow Park.
The Gunners lead The Blues by four points in the league table, although Emma Hayes’ side have a game in hand following the postponement of last month’s fixture at Everton.
Arsenal go into the match on the back of an exceptional home record, just like when the pair met 12 months ago. Joe Montemurro’s side have won all 12 home matches in all competitions this season, scoring 52 goals in the process. Last season’s fixture saw The Gunners face Chelsea having won five out of five at home in the FA Women’s Super League but it was the South West Londoners who came out on top with a 2-1 victory.
Chelsea will be tough opponents for Arsenal once again this weekend. Hayes’ side are the only team in the FA Women’s Super League who still boast an unbeaten record this season. Only Brighton & Hove Albion and Liverpool have been able to prevent The Blues from taking maximum points so far. Victory at Meadow Park will bring the title race back into their own hands.
The match is scheduled to kick-off at 2pm and is completely sold out.
