FA Women’s Championship club London Bees have completed the signing of former Reading defender Evie Gane.
The 20-year-old joins The Bees with immediate effect and could go straight into the squad for their league fixture against Lewes at The Dripping Pan tomorrow afternoon.
Gane joins London Bees after most recently playing in the National League with Oxford United where she has spent the last 12 months.
The defender has enjoyed two spells with The U’s, gaining her first taste of FA Women’s Championship football in her initial spell. Gane has also spent time with FA Women’s Super League outfit Reading, where she made a handful of top flight appearances, and Aston Villa prior to her return to Oxford United.
Gane has represented Wales at various youth levels on the international stage and the player will be hoping that her return to second tier football will help her push for further honours with The Dragons.
The player joins a London Bees side who returned to winning ways against the London City Lionesses last time out. Lee Burch’s side won 2-0 at Princes Park thanks to goals from Ellie Wilson and Amelia Hazard. Tomorrow, The Bees face a Lewes side who have lost all of their last 11 matches and saw manager Fran Alonso resign in midweek.
