Arsenal’s North London derby against Tottenham Hotspur at Meadow Park on Sunday has officially been confirmed as a sell-out with over 4,000 tickets having been snapped up.
The Gunners confirmed that all tickets for the match had been sold late this afternoon, almost 72 hours ahead of kick-off.
Sunday’s fixture is the second sell-out at Meadow Park this season with Arsenal’s last FA Women’s Super League fixture against Chelsea having also sold out. Joe Montemurro’s side will be hoping to send their fans home happy this time after being defeated 4-1 by The Blues three weeks ago.
Arsenal’s upcoming clash with neighbours Spurs is their first home North London derby in the FA Women’s Super League. The pair met in the reverse fixture in November at the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with Arsenal winning the match 2-0 thanks to goals from Kim Little and Vivianne Miedema. The fixture was played out in-front of a huge crowd of 38,262, a record for an FA Women’s Super League fixture.
The Gunners took on Tottenham Hotspur during pre-season at Meadow Park and came out on top, winning the friendly fixture 6-0. Spurs have evolved significantly since that meeting and are well on their way to establishing themselves at the top level.
Sunday’s clash is scheduled to kick-off at 2pm with the match being broadcast live on the BBC Red Button.
