Crystal Palace will stage next month’s FA Women’s Championship fixture against Blackburn Rovers at the club’s spiritual home of Selhurst Park.
The Eagles are set to take on Gemma Donnelly’s Rovers side on Sunday 22 March with the match scheduled to kick-off at 2pm.
The fixture was originally set to be played at Hayes Lane in Bromley but it has now been revealed that Palace will instead take on Blackburn Rovers in SE25 at Selhurst Park.
Crystal Palace last appeared at Selhurst Park in April 2019 when they hosted Charlton Athletic in a South London derby. Dean Davenport’s side lost the match 4-1 in-front of a healthy crowd. Kallie Balfour netted Crystal Palace’s goal from the penalty spot in the second half.
Next month’s return against Blackburn Rovers is predicted to be a much tighter affair with both sides battling the dreaded drop to the FA Women’s National League. The pair are separated by just a single point in the FA Women’s Championship, three and four points above bottom club Charlton Athletic. The Addicks have two games in hand on Crystal Palace leaving them in a precarious position.
