Crystal Palace and Brighton & Hove Albion will contest the final Women’s FA Cup fifth round tie at Hayes Lane on Tuesday evening.
The original tie was postponed just hours before kick-off following a period of heavy rain and the pair will now meet in midweek to determine who will host struggling FA Women’s Super League side Birmingham City in the quarter-finals next month.
Crystal Palace come into the match heavily involved in a relegation battle in the FA Women’s Championship, however, Dean Davenport’s side recorded an excellent draw in their last match at London City Lionesses on Sunday. The Eagles have already played four top flight sides this season in the FA Women’s Continental League Cup, losing all four games and failing to score.
A 1-0 home defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday ended Brighton & Hove Albion’s three-match unbeaten run in all competitions. Hope Powell’s side find themselves in the fifth round of the Women’s FA Cup after seeing off promotion-chasing FA Women’s Championship side Aston Villa 3-2 in the fourth round. Albion are bidding to reach a third domestic cup quarter-final in just two seasons and will be tough opponents for the hosts.
The match is scheduled to kick-off at 7.30pm with admission available in advance by clicking here or on the turnstiles.
