This month’s postponed Merseyside derby has been rearranged and will now take place at Goodison Park on Wednesday 25 March.
Everton were set to host local rivals Liverpool in-front of around 20,000 fans on 9 February but the match was postponed less than four hours before kick-off on safety grounds with Storm Ciara having battered the United Kingdom with gales and torrential rain.
Everton have now confirmed via their official website that the fixture will still be staged at Goodison Park with the match now being pencilled in for a 7pm kick-off on Wednesday 25 March. Tickets purchased for the original fixture will remain valid, however, home fans should check the Everton website for details of revised seating arrangements with some fans set to be relocated from their current seats.
The first Merseyside derby of the season took place in-front of 23,500 fans at Anfield on Women’s Football Weekend in November. Lucy Graham netted the only goal of the game late in the first half as Everton recorded a 1-0 victory over the red side of the city.
The two Merseyside rivals have endured very different campaigns. Everton find themselves in seventh position in the FA Women’s Super League table, a huge improvement on last term, while Liverpool are currently bottom.
