West Ham United forward Martha Thomas will be hoping that she is handed her senior debut for Scotland as Shelley Kerr’s side begin their Pinatar Cup campaign on Wednesday.
The Tartan Army take on the Ukraine in their first fixture of the tournament which is being held at the Pinatar Arenal in San Pedro del Pinatar, Spain.
Scotland will also take on Iceland and Northern Ireland in the four-team tournament which will be played out in a group format.
West Ham United forward Thomas has previously trained with Scotland and has been called up into manager Kerr’s 24-player squad for the tournament. The player will be hoping to finally make her debut for The Tartan Army four months on from her first-ever call-up which was prematurely ended due to injury.
Details of Kerr’s full 24-player squad can be found on The Scottish Football Association’s official website. Thomas is one of 13 FA Women’s Super League-based players having been selected for the squad. The forward will be competing with fellow English top flight stars Erin Cuthbert (Chelsea), Lisa Evans (Arsenal), Abbi Grant (Birmingham City) and Jane Ross (Manchester United) for a place in the Scotland attack.
Scotland’s Pinatar Cup opener against the Ukraine kicks-off at 6pm on Wednesday evening and will be available to watch on the Scotland National Team official Twitter, Facebook and YouTube channels.
