Blackburn Rovers manager Gemma Donnelly has confirmed that four of her injured players are making good progress in their bids to return to fitness according to reports on the Lancashire club’s official website.
Rovers are currently without defenders Kelsey Pearson, Ellie Fletcher and Milly Robertson along with midfielder Lauren Thomas through injury.
Donnelly has confirmed that both Pearson and Thomas are making progress on the training pitch and both players should be in-line to return to action before the end of the season while the rehabilitation of both Fletcher and Robertson is also going well.
Blackburn Rovers face a key run of fixtures after the international break with Donnelly’s side having eight games remaining to secure their FA Women’s Championship status for another year. Rovers are currently three points above bottom club Charlton Athletic but are one of five clubs who continue to be embroiled in a relegation battle.
In the eight games which remain, Rovers have all four sides who are currently below them in the league table left to play. When the action resumes following the international break, Donnelly will take her side to The Hive where they will face a London Bees side who have not played a competitive fixture in over six weeks due to postponements.
