Chelsea’s Kingsmeadow voted the favourite ground to visit in the FAWSL

Chelsea’s Kingsmeadow home has been voted the fans’ favourite ground to visit in the FA Women’s Super League, topping an exclusive fan poll ran by FA Women’s Super League Full-Time earlier today.

In two rounds of voting, fans of the FA Women’s Super League were able to select their favourite ground in the league to visit with the top four making the final poll. In that poll, it was Kingsmeadow which came out as the favourite, beating Manchester United’s home of the Leigh Sports Village to top spot.

The first round of voting was split into three sections based on the alphabetical order of participating clubs. Meadow Park, Kingsmeadow and the Leigh Sports Village came out on top in their three polls while Manchester City’s Academy Stadium was the next most popular choice.

Those four qualifying venues contested a final round of voting with Chelsea’s Kingsmeadow coming out on top as the fans’ favourite ground with 56% of the overall vote.

Chelsea moved to Kingsmeadow ahead of the 2017/2018 campaign with the club’s relocation from their previous home in Staines said to be one which saw them move into ‘an area of concentrated Chelsea support’. The Blues have benefitted from their move to Kingston, with over 21,000 fans having attended their six matches in the FA Women’s Super League at Kingsmeadow this season.

There has been a huge increase in crowds at Kingsmeadow particularly during the current campaign. The current average attendance this season is 3,572, that’s an increase of 42.89% on last term. More and more fans are attending football matches at the venue and it certainly seems to offer an enjoyable day out for all.
