WEEKLY UPDATE: Manchester City Women Official Supporters’ Club #47

Welcome to this week’s Manchester City Women Official Supporters’ Club update.

Obviously in these difficult times with many of us having to isolate and distance ourselves from each other, the priority of football slips down the list a little.

Anyone reading this will of course have a love for football like us and although we are so sad to have lost our game for the time being, we know it is the right thing to do as people’s health must always come first. Here at the OSC, we accept that health is paramount which us why in the last week, we called off our Roadshow event and a planned night out too.

These times are unprecedented but we for one hope that via our social media channels, we can still interact and entertain both our members and the football family. Our Twitter feed this last week has seen threads of some amazing fans’ memorabilia collections plus their creative artwork and colouring pictures. We hope to keep these interactions going throughout this difficult period.

No doubt many of you will have seen the fantastic impromptu performances online of our very own Lauren Hemp and Esme Morgan who have been belting out the tunes to make everyone smile. If you haven’t seen them yet, I suggest that you head over to Esme’s Twitter page and have a look.

Sunday saw Emma and the guys at Man City Women Fancast organise a mass re-watch party. Many of us relived the thrills of last season’s SSE Women’s FA Cup final clash with West Ham United, while chatting and commenting throughout.

These kind of interactions are more important than ever before and we have more planned in the coming weeks. We are online everyday, especially on Twitter and Facebook and if people just fancy a chat or a browse of content, our online women’s football community is something which we can all be very proud of.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish each and every one of you well. Stay safe and do what’s right to help our amazing care staff come through these testing times.

Take care and we will be back with another update next week.
