American defender ends one-year stay at Birmingham City to join The Bold

Birmingham City full-back Adrienne Jordan has left the club and has returned to the American National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) where she has joined OL Reign.

The 26-year-old Colorado-born defender has left the Blues after just one season playing her football at the SportNation.bet Stadium.

Jordan was set to become a free agent this summer, however, Birmingham City have confirmed via their official website that the club have agreed to let the player leave slightly ahead of her contract expiry to allow her to join The Bold.

The former United States Under-23 international is one of five Birmingham City players to have featured in all 13 of their matches in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League this season and she generally impressed despite the club’s lowly league position. Jordan’s only goal in a Birmingham City shirt came in an FA Women’s Continental League Cup group fixture at Leicester City in October.

Jordan started her career in her homeland with Colorado Pride and the Chicago Red Stars before she moved to Sweden where she enjoyed a short spell with Ostersunds DFF. The defender then joined Icelandic top flight side IBV prior to spending the 2018/2019 season in Italy at Atalanta Mozzanica.

It has been reported that Jordan linked up with her new teammates at an OL Reign pre-season training camp yesterday.
