The voting for the 2019/2020 Manchester City Women Official Supporters’ Club Player of the Season award is the closest we have ever had.
Many members struggled to pick just one player after a great season where so many individuals shone through.
The voting showed our biggest-ever spread in the actual number of players who received votes, as well as the most votes we have ever received too. As the deadline grew nearer, a clear top three contenders emerged from the pack and on Sunday as voting closed, our winner was revealed to be forward Lauren Hemp. Goalkeeper Ellie Roebuck ended the voting in second place while Canadian international Janine Beckie’s excellent season was also recognised as she claimed third place.
The OSC are delighted to see Lauren crowned as our Player of the Season as she had such an outstanding campaign. Her name will be added to our trophy very soon and presented as soon as it is deemed safe to do so.
The closeness of the voting this year simply goes to show how lucky we are to have such an abundance of quality players at the club. We would like to thank all of our members for voting and we look forward to hopefully seeing them all at The Academy Stadium next season.
