Former Birmingham City midfielder Chloe Arthur has completed the move to the Blues’ city rivals Aston Villa according to reports on the club’s official website.
The 25-year-old Scottish international left the blue side of Birmingham just days ago along with teammate Lucy Staniforth and the player has taken little time in finding a new club.
It has today been reported that Arthur has agreed a move to newly-promoted Barclays FA Women’s Super League club Aston Villa. The player is believed to have initially signed a contract which will see her spend the coming season at The Banks’s Stadium, although that deal could be prolonged should both Arthur and Villa enjoy a successful campaign.
Arthur is the first player to join Gemma Davies’ side this summer after their promotion to the top flight was recently confirmed by The Football Association on a ‘points per game’ basis.
The midfielder has spent the last two years with former club Birmingham City before joining the mass-exodus at the SportNation.bet Stadium this summer. She played in 12 of Birmingham City’s 13 games in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League last season while she helped the club to the quarter-finals of the Women’s FA Cup.
Aston Villa becomes Arthur’s third different English club. She has also spent time with Bristol City earlier in her career.
