Northern Ireland youth international midfielder Annie Timoney is leaving FA Women’s Championship club Lewes.
The youngster moved to The Dripping Pan from Belfast-based side Glentoran last summer and she became a popular member of The Rookettes squad.
Timoney has previously served in the Navy at the Marine Academy in Plymouth and she was granted permission to play football.
The midfielder returns to her native Northern Ireland having made four appearances for Lewes over the course of last season. It remains to be seen if the player picks up where she left off at Glentoran where she spent two seasons between 2014 and 2016 before then returning in 2018.
The player’s departure was confirmed by Lewes via their official Twitter account earlier today.

Timoney follows recent departees Ella Powell and Caitlin Hayes through the Lewes exit door.
The news also comes fresh off the back of goalkeeper Faye Baker’s announcement that she will be playing her football away from The Dripping Pan next season.
Lewes boss Simon Parker is yet to bring in any new recruits so far this summer but that will certainly change with the Sussex club looking to push their way up the FA Women’s Championship table and improve on their eighth-place finish from last season.
