Everton manager Willie Kirk has added another player to his squad for the coming season after agreeing a one-year contract extension with Australian international winger Hayley Raso.
The 25-year-old Brisbane-born midfielder joined The Blues Girls on a short term contract in January but failed to make an appearance for the Merseyside club due to both being on international duty and the fact that the Barclays FA Women’s Super League season was cut short as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic.
Despite not making an appearance for Kirk’s side, Raso is ready to test herself in the English game and Everton have today confirmed via their official website that the player has agreed to sign with them for the 2020/2021 campaign.
Raso is a much-experienced player after spending her career to date playing in either the Australian W-League or the American National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL). She has also been capped at senior international level by The Matildas on no less than 46 occasions while she has netted six goals for her country.
The winger’s current club Everton recorded a much-improved sixth-place finish in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League in 2019/2020. The club are now looking to push on with Raso potentially playing an important part in their growth.
