Bristol City have confirmed the signing of midfielder Megan Wynne on a free transfer according to reports on the club’s official website.
Wynne had been on loan with Tanya Oxtoby’s side last season, having made the move from parent club Tottenham Hotspur in January of this year.
The Welsh international made five appearances in a Bristol City shirt last season with her three outings in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League coming from the bench. Manager Oxtoby and her backroom staff have clearly seen enough from Wynne to determine that she merits a permanent contract at the Stoke Gifford Stadium. The 27-year-old winger has signed a deal with The Robins which will initially see her stay with the club until the end of the 2020/2021 season.
After signing her contract with Bristol City, Wynne said “I feel in this environment, surrounded by great players and under Tanya’s guidance, I can really push myself and take my game to the next level – I believe I’ve got a lot more to show.
“I have been working hard during lockdown to make sure I’m in the best shape possible to return. I can’t wait to get back into training with my teammates now and I know we will be ready and raring to go when the season starts.
“I’m really grateful for this opportunity, it feels like there is something special being built here and I’m very excited to be a part of it.”
Wynne becomes Bristol City’s third summer signing after the club recently acquired the services of Ella Mastrantonio and Aimee Palmer.
