Crystal Palace have completed the signing of former Brighton & Hove Albion attacker Kate Natkiel for the coming season according to reports on The Eagles’ official website.
The 27-year-old was one of a handful of players released by Brighton & Hove Albion following the conclusion of the 2019/2020 Barclays FA Women’s Super League campaign.
It has today been revealed that Natkiel will drop down to the FA Women’s Championship for the next chapter of her career with the player joining Crystal Palace. Natkiel is no stranger to the second tier after representing former clubs Watford and Brighton & Hove Albion at that level of football.
In her two years playing in the top flight with Brighton & Hove Albion, Natkiel made 19 league appearances with 13 of those outings coming as starts. She has more commonly been named amongst the Albion substitutes as the club have established themselves at the top level.
After signing her contract with Crystal Palace, Natkiel told the club’s official media channels “I’m excited for a new challenge with a club that shares my ambitions; I can’t wait to get started and I’m looking forward to enjoying my football again.”
Natkiel will offer new boss Dean Davenport plenty of versatility. The player is comfortable playing in various midfield roles or in an advanced attacking position. Crystal Palace were the fourth-lowest scorers in the second tier last season and Natkiel’s attacking qualities will be a real boost for the club.
