FA Women’s Championship club Durham have completed the signing of striker Bridget Galloway from neighbours Sunderland according to an official press release issued to FA Women’s Super League Full-Time by The Wildcats earlier today.
The 20-year-old Gateshead-born forward has spent her entire senior career to date with The Lady Black Cats but will now look to test herself in the second tier with Durham after spending the last two seasons playing in the FA Women’s National League.
Galloway moves to New Ferens Park after netting 21 goals in just 23 games for Sunderland in the FA Women’s National League last season. The player has some top flight playing experience with Melanie Copeland’s side from their FA Women’s Super League 1 days prior to their demotion in 2018.
The youngster also has international experience under her belt. Galloway has represented England at Under-19 level and her move to Durham may now enhance her claims for further honours with The Young Lionesses.
After signing on at Durham, Galloway told the club’s official media channels “I’m excited to get started and hit the ground running.
