Brighton & Hove Albion manager Hope Powell has made Finnish international midfielder Nora Heroum her third signing of the summer according to reports on The Seagulls’ official website.
The 25-year-old moves to The People’s Pension Stadium following a two-year spell in Italy with AC Milan and the player looks to have been handed the number 11 shirt by Albion.
The deal was confirmed by Brighton & Hove Albion this morning with Heroum joining fellow new signings Katie Startup and Katie Robinson at the Sussex club.
Heroum is an experienced player who has been capped by her nation at senior level on 72 occasions. She has also represented The Boreal Owls at various youth levels earlier in her career.
At club level, the midfielder started out at HJK Helsinki before representing two further Finnish clubs in FC Honka and Aland United. In 2015, Heroum first ventured outside of her homeland when she joined Danish outfit Fortuna Hjorring. It was here that the player got her first taste of UEFA Women’s Champions League football.
After leaving the Nord Energi Arena in 2017, Heroum joined Italian side Brescia where she spent one season before moving to her latest club AC Milan. The midfielder featured in every Serie A Women fixture for the club last season before the campaign was brought to a premature close as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic.
Heroum initially joins Brighton & Hove Albion on a one-year contract.
