Danish international centre-back Rikke Sevecke has completed a move from French club FC Fleury 91 to Everton according to reports on The Blue Girls’ official website.
The player has signed a two-year contract at Walton Hall Park while she will wear the number 22 shirt for the 2020/2021 season.
Sevecke broke onto the scene in her native Denmark in 2015 when she joined Brondby at 18 years of age. In 2017, the defender had a brief spell in America during a loan spell with the University of Northwestern Ohio. She joined latest club FC Fleury 91 last year.
On the international scene, Sevecke has thus far made 22 appearances for Denmark while she has netted one goal. She earned her first cap back in 2016 but was unable to force her way into the squad for the 2017 UEFA Women’s Euro as the Danes finished as tournament runners-up. Sevecke follows her national team colleague Nicoline Sorensen to Everton.
After signing for The Blue Girls, Sevecke told Everton’s official media channels “I’m super excited to join Everton on my next step and I’m looking forward to the professional setup and level that the WSL has to offer.
“I can’t wait to get started and work with Willie Kirk and the team to reach our goals for the upcoming season.”
In addition to Danish pair Sevecke and Sorensen, Norwegian international defender Ingrid Moe Wold and former Bristol City star Poppy Pattinson have also been brought into the Everton fold this summer.
