Former Everton midfielder Inessa Kaagman has joined The Blue Girls’ Barclays FA Women’s Super League rivals Brighton & Hove Albion according to reports on The Seagulls’ official website.
The 24-year-old Dutch international midfielder left Everton at the end of the season as her contract at Walton Hall Park came to an end.
It has now been revealed that Kaagman will remain in the English game with the player joining Brighton & Hove Albion on an initial one-year deal.
The midfielder started her career in her homeland with Ajax. She spent five years with The Daughters of the Gods after joining the Amsterdam outfit from Hollandia B1 where Kaagman has spent most of her youth.
In 2018, Kaagman made the decision to test herself overseas with the player joining Everton. She made 31 appearances for The Blue Girls in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League while she scored five goals. Kaagman helped Willie Kirk’s side reach the quarter-finals of the Women’s FA Cup last season.
After leaving Everton, many thought that Kaagman would be playing her football across Europe this season but she has instead signed on at The People’s Pension Stadium in one of the more surprising deals of the summer.
Kaagman becomes Brighton & Hove Albion manager Hope Powell’s fourth signing of the summer.
