Charlton Athletic midfielder Lilli Maple has signed a new contract with the club ahead of the 2020/2021 FA Women’s Championship season according to reports on The Addicks’ official website.
The 24-year-old midfielder has played the majority of her football in the London area and she will continue to do so in the coming season.
It has today been announced that Maple has agreed a one-year contract extension at The Oakwood. Despite Charlton Athletic’s struggles last season, Maple was in top form and was named the club’s Player of the Year. She will now look to play her part in Riteesh Mishra’s side enjoying a more comfortable campaign this time around.
The midfielder has made 39 appearances for The Addicks in all competitions in her two seasons with the club and she started every game in the FA Women’s Championship for Charlton Athletic last season.
Maple moved to the South East Londoners in 2018 following a spell with Watford. The player can also count Crystal Palace and Millwall Lionesses amongst her former clubs.
After signing her new deal, Maple told Charlton Athletic’s official club media sources “I’m delighted to have re-signed, the club is a great place to be and my main reason for staying is because of the coaching staff and players that I’m around. I know they’ll help me keep developing and improving as a player.”
Maple joins Grace Coombs in extending her deal at The Oakwood for the coming season.
