Sheffield United duo Sam Tierney and Olivia Fergusson have left the club according to reports on The Blades’ official website.
Midfielder Tierney has spent the last two seasons with The Blades while forward Fergusson joined the South Yorkshire club last summer.
With the new FA Women’s Championship season around six weeks away, Sheffield United have today confirmed that Tierney and Fergusson will not be with the club in 2020/2021. Both players have served The Blades well but will be playing their football elsewhere this season.
Tierney re-joined Sheffield United from Doncaster Rovers Belles in 2018 after previously representing the club at academy level. She made 12 appearances for The Blades in the FA Women’s Championship last season as they ended the campaign as runners-up.
Sheffield United teammate Fergusson has been with the club for just one season but she impressed, scoring seven goals in 14 FA Women’s Championship appearances The forward was one of just five players to appear in all of The Blades’ 14 FA Women’s Championship fixtures last season and ended the campaign as the club’s third top scorer behind Jade Pennock and Katie Wilkinson.
Tierney and Fergusson join Ali Johnson, Sophie Barker and Izzy Ford in leaving The Proact Stadium this summer.
