Coventry United manager Jay Bradford has completed the signing of defender Alice Hassall on a free transfer.
The 23-year-old moves to the Butts Park Arena following her release by neighbours Aston Villa earlier this summer.
Hassall was a member of the Aston Villa side which won the FA Women’s Championship title on a points-per-game basis last season. The defender made one appearance for Gemma Davies’ side which came in their 3-1 victory over the London City Lionesses at The Trevor Brown Memorial Ground in December. She was also an unused substitute for Villa on four occasions. She was one of eight players released by Villa this summer.
Coventry United unveiled the signing of Hassall on their official Twitter account earlier this morning.

With Coventry United having ended the 2019/2020 campaign with the joint-worst defensive record in the FA Women’s Championship, manager Bradford has so far focussed her summer recruitment on players in and around that area. Hassall joins fellow defender Georgia Popple in moving to the Butts Park Arena this summer while the club have also acquired the services of highly-rated young goalkeeper Olivia Clark.
Coventry United have also secured the services of nine members of their 2019/2020 squad for the coming season
