West Ham United will play their home fixtures at Dagenham & Redbridge’s Chigwell Construction Stadium this season according to reports on The Hammers’ official website.
Matt Beard’s side have been playing at West Ham United’s Rush Green training base during their last two seasons in the top flight.
The East Londoners have developed strong links with neighbours Dagenham & Redbridge with the men’s Development Squad having played their fixtures at The Chigwell Construction Stadium in recent years and it has today been reported that West Ham United’s women’s side will now play at the venue.
The facilities on offer at Rush Green are relatively basic while the capacity of the stadium is just 4,500 at a squeeze made up largely of standing room. The move down the road to Dagenham will see West Ham United play at a stadium which is up to English Football League standard with more than 2,000 seats available, excellent pre and post-match facilities and good transport links. The arrangement should allow The Hammers to attract new fans and grow their fanbase.
The Chigwell Construction Stadium has been well maintained by Dagenham & Redbridge. The venue has seen some major improvements made within the last 20 years including the construction of two new stands and it will serve as a great new home for tenants West Ham United.
