Lewes boss Simon Parker has again been busy in the transfer market, completing the signing of former Oxford United forward Georgia Timms on a free transfer.
The 22-year-old has starred in the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division for The Yellows and she is now expected to be a big hit for latest club Lewes.
Timms was Oxford United’s top scorer last season with 16 goals in all competitions while she has won a whole host of personal accolades during her time with the club.
Lewes announced the move via their official website earlier today. Timms becomes The Rookettes’ third addition of the summer following the recent arrivals of goalkeeper Laura Hartley and defender Ellie Hack.
Timms looks set to play a leading role for her new club with the player having been handed the number nine shirt by Lewes. The striker will be expected to find the goals to help The Rookettes become a greater force in the FA Women’s Championship. Only bottom club Charlton Athletic netted less goals than the Sussex side last season with Lewes averaging less than a goal per game.
The player has some experience of second tier football with former club Oxford United and she will be hoping to burst onto the scene in her second audition at that level.
