Young Chelsea midfielder Lilly Pursey has joined FA Women’s Championship club London City Lionesses according to reports on The Pride’s official website.
The 18-year-old moves to Princes Park on a permanent basis with Pursey signing a two-year deal with The Pride.
Pursey becomes new London City Lionesses head coach Lisa Fallon’s third signing of the summer following the recent additions of midfielder Allison Murphy and goalkeeper Shae Yanez. The youngster is a player which Fallon knows well with the London City Lionesses boss having previously coached with Pursey’s former club Chelsea.
Upon signing on at Princes Park, Pursey told London City Lionesses’ official media sources “I’m delighted to sign my first professional contract at London City Lionesses, and am really looking forward to working with Lisa, the management team, the squad and helping the team push for promotion.”
The London City Lionesses’ Barclays FA Women’s Super League dream looks set to edge that bit closer this season. New head coach Fallon has retained many of the club’s key players from last season while she is using her contacts well to bring new faces into her group.
The Pride begin the 2020/2021 campaign with a home fixture against fellow promotion-chasers Sheffield United on the weekend of 5/6 September.
