Former Millwall Lionesses midfielder Beth Lumsden has become Charlton Athletic boss Riteesh Mishra’s third signing of the summer according to reports on The Addicks’ official website.
The 21-year-old midfielder follows former Lewes pair Jess King and Ella Powell to The Oakwood with Lumsden agreeing a deal with the South East Londoners for the coming season.
Despite her young age, Lumsden already has some experience of playing in the FA Women’s Championship with the player having previously represented former club Millwall Lionesses in the second tier. The youngster returns to that level of football following a one-season absence.
Lumsden has had a good grounding in the game after coming through the academy system at Barclays FA Women’s Super League club Arsenal. She also spent time with Chelsea prior to moving to Millwall Lionesses
Upon signing on at Charlton Athletic, Lumsden told the club’s official media sources “I am so excited to get the season underway.
“It is a privilege to wear the badge, I can’t wait for the season to start and to be involved in such an ambitious club.”
The addition of Lumsden now means that 10 players have agreed contracts with Charlton Athletic for the coming season. As well as the three new signings, Grace Coombs, Lilli Maple, Alice Griffiths, Rachel Newborough, Charley Clifford, Ellie Dorey and Jenna Legg have all signed new contracts with the club for 2020/2021.
