Republic of Ireland international forward loaned to Brighton & Hove Albion

Republic of Ireland international forward Denise O’Sullivan is understood to have joined Brighton & Hove Albion on loan from National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) side North Carolina Courage according to reports on the American club’s official website.

Brighton & Hove Albion official club sources are yet to confirm the move, however, reports from North Carolina Courage suggest that O’Sullivan will spend the remainder of the calendar year playing her football in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League.

The striker has spent the last three years with The Courage but is no stranger to loan moves with O’Sullivan having previously spent time with Canberra United and the Western Sydney Warriors.

O’Sullivan started her senior career in her homeland with both Peamount United and Cork before joining Scottish Women’s Premier League (SWPL) club Glasgow City where she won two domestic trebles and one league and Scottish Women’s Cup double. In 2016, the forward moved to the United States where she spent a year with Houston Dash before joining latest side North Carolina Courage.

It is thought that O’Sullivan could be available for selection for Brighton & Hove Albion’s matchday squad for their Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixture against Manchester City at The Academy Stadium on Sunday.
