Birmingham City and Everton meet in the semi-finals of the Vitality Women’s FA Cup tomorrow night with a place in November’s final at Wembley at stake.
The home side go into the tie fresh from a 4-3 penalty shootout quarter-final victory at Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday while visitors Everton disposed of a star-studded Chelsea side at Goodison Park.
Birmingham City go into the semi-final tie without the services of on-loan Everton defender and quarter-final hero Georgia Brougham who is ineligible to face her former club. This will force Blues boss Carla Ward into making a change at the back as her side prepare to take on an Everton side who have registered three wins out of three in all competitions so far this season.
In addition to defeating Brighton & Hove Albion, Birmingham City have also knocked out Sheffield United and Sunderland on their way to the last four of the competition.
Everton boss Willie Kirk has no new injury concerns to contend with ahead of his side’s trip to the SportNation.bet Stadium. The Blue Girls could line-up exactly the same as they did against Chelsea on Sunday.
The Merseyside club defeated London Bees and Bristol City in the fourth and fifth rounds of the competition prior to their 2-1 success over the Barclays FA Women’s Super League champions in the last eight.
The Vitality Women’s FA Cup semi-final tie between Birmingham City and Everton kicks-off at 7.15pm tomorrow night and will be screened live on BBC Four.
