All 11 of Manchester City’s England internationals have seemingly returned to the club from the recent St George’s Park training camp in good health.
Gareth Taylor’s side face Everton in the 2019/2020 Vitality Women’s FA Cup final on Sunday afternoon and the City head coach will have been nervous over the fitness of some of his stars with the England team coming together over the week prior to the game.
Phil Neville fielded two England XIs in an inter-squad friendly on Friday evening behind-closed-doors at St George’s Park. The Lionesses were also scheduled to travel to Wiesbaden to face Germany in an international friendly today but the game was postponed and camp curtailed as a result of a member of the England coaching staff testing positive for Covid-19.
Manchester City provided their preview for the 2019/2020 Women’s FA Cup final via their official website yesterday, confirming that they currently have no new injury concerns to contend with ahead of their trip to the capital. Long term absentees Aoife Mannion, Megan Campbell and Lauren Hemp are the only players reported to be sidelined for Wembley at this stage.
Taylor has not yet got midfielder Caroline Weir back from international duty. The player is set to feature for Scotland against Finland in Helsinki this evening and the City head coach will be hoping that she comes through the match unscathed.
