Coventry United have completed the signing of midfielder Fran Orthodoxou from FA Women’s National League North club West Bromwich Albion.
The experienced campaigner bolsters Coventry United boss Jay Bradford’s midfield options ahead of her side’s FA Women’s Championship fixture against Blackburn Rovers at the Butts Park Arena on Sunday.
Coventry United announced the capture of Orthodoxou via a post on their official club Twitter account this evening.

Orthodoxou made 60 appearances for former club West Bromwich Albion in which she scored 10 goals. The player helped The Baggies to the FA Women’s National League Division One Midlands league title in 2018/2019 while she was also an FA Women’s National League Plate winner with the club in the same season.
The midfielder joins a Coventry United side who have lost their last four matches in all competitions in which they have conceded 25 goals. Orthodoxou’s experience could be vital to her new club as Coventry United look to steer their way out of a rocky spell.
Sunday’s fixture against Blackburn Rovers will be no easy task with the visitors in great form of late. The Lancashire club have kept clean sheets in each of their last three matches and have collected seven points.
