Everton boss Kirk signs new two-and-a-half-year deal

Everton manager Willie Kirk has signed a new two-and-a-half-year deal with the club according to reports on The Blue Girls’ official website.

The 42-year-old is midway through a huge project on Merseyside to help the club compete for domestic trophies on a regular basis and qualify for a place in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Since taking over at Everton two years’ ago, Kirk has turned the team around from one which was struggling at the bottom of the Barclays FA Women’s Super League table to one which is now pushing to become a permanent fixture in the top four. Under Kirk’s guidance, The Blue Girls reached the final of the 2019/2020 Vitality Women’s FA Cup where they battled bravely before going down 3-1 to Manchester City after extra-time.

Following the conclusion of recent contract talks between Everton and Kirk, it has today been announced that the Scot will remain with the club until summer 2023. Assistant Chris Roberts has also signed a new contract for the same duration.

Everton are going into the Christmas break in fifth position in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League table. The Blue Girls have collected 14 points from their nine games played so far this season. Kirk’s side are currently one place higher than they finished the 2019/2020 campaign.
