Manchester City midfielder Tyler Toland has won the Utilita Player of the Month award for December at loan club Glasgow City.
The 19-year-old Republic of Ireland international joined Glasgow City from Manchester City on a season-long loan deal in early October and the player is quickly making a name for herself north of the border.
Glasgow City have this afternoon announced their Utility Player of the Month award winner for December with on-loan Manchester City youngster Toland receiving the gong. It was a tough month for Scott Booth’s side with three defeats in four matches in all competitions but midfielder Toland impressed despite results not going her side’s way.
Toland featured in all four of her side’s matches, gaining further experience on the European stage in the process as Glasgow City took on Czech club Sparta Prague over two legs in the UEFA Women’s Champions League Round of 32.
The youngster joined parent club Manchester City from Northern Irish side Sion Swifts in August 2019. Toland made just a couple of appearances for the Barclays FA Women’s Super League side in her first season with the club with the midfielder largely left as an unused substitute. Manchester City head coach Gareth Taylor will be keeping a keen eye on the player’s progress whilst out on loan and he will be pleased with what he has seen so far.
