Charlton Athletic boss Mishra makes Crawley Wasps forward his third signing

Charlton Athletic manager Riteesh Mishra has again been busy in the transfer market with the club acquiring the services of Welsh forward Emma Plewa from FA Women’s National League South club Crawley Wasps.

The 30-year-old Brecon-born forward becomes The Addicks’ third addition in a little over 24 hours with the club having already signed attacking players Elisha Sulola and Angie Dunbar-Bonnie on loan deals from Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United.

The club announced the signing of Plewa via their official club website this evening with the player likely to be in contention to face London City Lionesses in Charlton Athletic’s latest FA Women’s Championship fixture at The Oakwood tomorrow night.

Plewa started her career with two spells with Bristol Academy, either side of her spending time studying in the United States. The forward then went on to represent Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Millwall Lionesses before joining Lewes in 2015. Plewa has been with FA Women’s National League South club Crawley Wasps for more than two years and she will now be hoping to prove her worth stepping back up to FA Women’s Championship level.

Charlton Athletic have acquired the services of a player with international experience. Plewa has been capped by Wales at senior level on 20 occasions, scoring her only goal against the Czech Republic in UEFA Women’s EURO 2011 qualifying.

The Addicks could jump off the bottom of the FA Women’s Championship table with a victory over London City Lionesses tomorrow night.
