PREVIEW: London Bees v Leicester City

FA Women’s Championship leaders Leicester City travel to London Bees this weekend in search of a ninth successive league win to continue their push for the title.

The Foxes come into the game on the back of a 1-0 home win over Crystal Palace last weekend which saw them maintain top spot in FA Women’s Championship.

Sian Osmond’s London Bees side have a relegation fight on their hands after another loss last weekend saw the North West Londoners drop to tenth in the table, just one point above the drop zone.

The Leicester City attackers will fancy their chances of finding the back of the net this weekend with Osmond’s Bees side having conceded 12 goals in their last three games. In addition to this, London Bees have scored just twice in five games but only time will tell if the threat of relegation will inspire their attacking force. The visitors could welcome back midfielder Remi Allen this weekend with the player having recently been missing with a minor injury.

With her side only having four games to play, Osmond will know the importance of fighting hard for every point that London Bees can gain, particularly with bottom side Coventry United having two games in hand.

In the reverse fixture in December, Leicester City claimed the three points with a dominant 3-0 victory over the struggling Bees at Farley Way.

London Bees’ FA Women’s Championship fixture against Leicester City is scheduled to kick-off at 2pm on Sunday afternoon with highlights to be made available on the FA Player.
